Derby kit unveiled

The special retro kit to be worn by United for Sunday's Manchester derby has been unveiled.

The strip, which has been specially designed without kit manufacturer or sponsorship logos, is based on the kit worn by the Busby Babes in the 1950s - in recognition of this week's 50th anniversary of the Munich air disaster.

Also abandoned are modern squad numbers, with United's 16-man squad set to don numbers 1 through 16 on Sunday after gaining special dispensation from the Premier League.

Chief executive David Gill said: "The sincere thanks of the Club go to AIG and Nike for their wholehearted backing for the kit change, and to the Premier League for allowing us to mark the event in a unique way."

Like United, opponents Manchester City will don a retro strip, free of sponsorship, especially for Sunday's match. A black ribbon motif, bearing the words ‘Manchester Remembers,’ has also been incorporated.

Both teams will observe a minute's silence and every fan attending will receive a special memento.

Ulasan Filem Dunia Baru The Movie

Filem Santai Yang Menghiburkan
Filem terbaru keluaran Grand Brilliance Sdn Berhad, anak syarikat media utama negara, Media Prima telah menjengah ke pawagam-pawagam pada sambutan tahun baru Cina iaitu 7hb Februari 2008. Tercabar juga kerana serentak pada masa yang sama, filem Stephen Chow CJ7 juga turut menyerang pawagam. Filem pertama seumpananya di Malaysia yang mengadaptasi drama siri ke filem ini membariskan lakonan mantap pelakon-pelakon remaja seperti Almy Nadia, Mohd Hafiz, Wan Elyas, Anne Ngasri, Iqram Dinzly, Anita Baharom, Pierre Andre serta lakonan hebat penyanyi remaja, Elyana.

Dunia Baru The Movie membawa satu garapan yang baru dan segar jika dibandingkan dengan drama siri yang ditayangkan di televisyen. Ianya berkisar dengan kisah Anizah (lakonan Anita Baharom) yang telah hilang dari kolej dengan meninggalkan nota, rupanya Anizah telah mengikuti Fazley (lakonan Mohd Hafiz) untuk berkahwin di Thailand. Apabila berita tersebut diketahui oleh Madihah (lakonan Anne Ngasri), dia segera mengumpul semua sahabat baiknya untuk sama-sama membantu Anizah dari melakukan kesilapan besar. Mereka sedari bahawa dia sebenarnya telah diculik dan dipaksa untuk berkahwin dengan Fazley. Apakah yang terjadi sepanjang perjalanan mereka dan apakah yang terjadi akhirnya kepada Fazley dan Anizah?

Filem sulung arahan Yeop Hitler ini cukup santai tapi penuh dengan aksi-aksi lucu yang cukup membuat anda ketawa sehingga tidak kering gusi. Garapan pengarah yang kemas dan ringkas serta sinematografi yang menarik, menjadi satu faktor tambahan untuk penonton-penonton memilih Dunia Baru The Movie sebagai tontonan pada musim cuti ini. Namun, Budiey merasakan ada terdapat sedikitmeleret dari segi jalan cerita, serta ada elemen yang tidak diberi penekanan oleh pengarah. Menghiburkan memang lah ianya akan mengundang ketawa. Sesiapa sahaja yang menonton akan terhibur kerana filem ini sangat meriah disebabkan ramai pelakon. Dek kerana filem remaja yang cukup menghiburkan ini sudah tentu membuat penonton tidak terasa sepanjang durasi filem berkenaan iaitu 1 jam 30 minit.

Budiey memang suka kalau filem ini lebih dikemaskan dengan diberi ketelitian dari segi suntingan. Penonton kita tidak macam dulu. Sekarang ini ramai penonton yang inginkan kesempurnaan dalam garapan sesebuah filem. Kesinambungan masa dan lokasi serta aspek lain perlu diberi penekanan.

Penggunaan warna yang agak terang dalam filem ini mungkin akan memberi pro dan kontranya. Pronya, sudah tentu warna yang terang dapat menceriakan lagi filem ini. Namun, sekiranya tidak berhati-hati, warna yang terang atau saturation yang tinggi akan menyakitkan mata penonton. Dan satu perkara lagi, ketidak samaan antara satu babak dengan satu babak yang lain.

Lakonan Elyana, Wan Elyas dan Anne Ngasri seperti biasa tidak mengecewakan saya. Lakonan yang bersahaja dan tampil bijak dengan lelucon sudah tentu akan menghilangkan kebosanan penonton. Lantaran itu boleh Budiey katakan lakonan mereka penyelamat utama menjadikan filem ini antara filem yang wajib ditonton oleh penggemar siri ini di TV. Lakonan Mohd Hafiz pula kekadang macam dibuat-buat dan tidak natural. Tidak kurang elemen seram dipergunakan semaksimum mungkin sehingga saya kira ada babak tertentu tidak perlu disertakan dengan bunyi latar yang menyeramkan.

Satu perkara lagi yang menjadi tarikan filem ini ialah kehadiran begitu ramai pelakon cameo atau pelakon undangan. Sememangnya satu formula yang sangat memberi suntikan teruja bagi penonton. Anda akan saksikan pelakon cilik dari siri Rafique, ada Mamat Khalid dengan skrip sempoi yang sangat lawak, ada Dinaz & Redzuan Hashim dengan watak serius sebagai pegawai polis dan banyak lagi. Budiey suka dengan lakonan Mamat Khalid yang hanya muncul sekejap tetapi banyak memberi impak. Sangat ramai camoenya dalam filem ini… anda pasti suka!

Akhir kata, dalam memeriahkan industri filem tempatan, Dunia Baru The Movie pasti akan membuat anda ketawa dan pasti memberikan satu tanda aras yang baru kepada tahap filem bergenre komedi romantik dalam industri filem Malaysia. Kepada yang sudah menonton, apa kata anda pula? Komen la sikit.

I received the invitation to the premier of Dunia Baru the Movie from the PR lady Nuradila (Thanks! Keep them coming) at Grand Brilliance about a week ago. Initially I didn’t think I would be going to the movie, cos 1st, it is a local production (many of them aren’t very entertaining), and 2nd, it is also my badminton night.

However, things in life usually turns out the way you never knew it would. Due to fact that I need to steal Suanie’s car for CNY, and that she wanted to catch the show, I ended up ditching badminton. BUT, before the movie starts, the Suan actually thought it might be a great idea if we skip the whole show and have a big dinner instead. I told her to be nice and just watch it in full.

We were both pleasantly surprised by our collective decisions at the end. Dunia Baru was just so entertaining!

Dunia Baru the Movie

The movie is actually based on a massively popular TV series by the same name on TV3 about life in college/university. In the movie, Anizah was being kidnapped by a stalker, her university friends then ganged together and traveled a long way to rescue her. 90% of the show is about their adventure, with a lot of funny bits and a few heart warming moments.

I particularly like the performance and character of the rocky chick, played by Elyana. A very strong character who also sings very well.

The movie does show a parallel to one of my favorite comedy, Eurotrip. With a lot of almost lame but very funny bits. I was laughing my butt off on so many instances it was ridiculous. The soundtrack was awesome, and sceneries very beautiful. Of course, production quality and sound quality suffers a little, but luckily they did not get into the way of me enjoying the movie.

The cool thing was, all the stars were seated just a few rows behind me during the screening!

Give this local show a try, I must say I am impressed. Much better than I am Legend that’s for sure.

Sony Ericsson Kxxx with GPS in the wild

Obviously Sony Ericsson arein for a major announcement with a spanking new K-series Cyber-shothandset that is obviously loaded with goodies. The Chinese-basedwebsite pconline.com.cn has revealed details and live photos of thedevice.
Since there are a lot of comments going around if this phone is aChinese fake, we can assure you that it's the real deal, as we've seenan actual working prototype of the device - and it even had that samegross color on.
Styled in a conservative form factor and a rather controversiolcolor combo (read: we are not buying it), the new K-series handsetsports a 3 megapixel auto focus camera (it's not a 5 megapixel one,trust us) and a dual-LED flash. But that's not all that this handset isabout.


This new puppy will be among the first Sony Ericsson handsets to feature a built-in GPS receiver (remember Sony Ericsson W760,right?). The software part of the GPS navigation is ensured by theLocation Services menu we also saw in the Sony Ericsson W890, whichincludes applications such as Google Maps, Favorite places, etc. Thistime however the menu has an even expanded functionality in order tomake the most out of the integrated GPS receiver.







The new Sony Ericssonhandset will be positioned somewhere above Sony Ericsson K770 and SonyEricsson K850. If you ask us though it looks rather reminescent of someolder Sony Ericsson T-series handsets, so maybe a T-series designationwill be more like it.
We are yet to see the real announcement of the device somewhere inthe near future - perhaps in the beginning of February just as lastyear.

Al-Kisah Orang Gila

Al-kisah.....adalah satu kampung ni.. nama kampung ni Kampung Pinang 18 Batang. Kat kampung ni orang ramai idup aman dan bahagia. Dalam kampung yang aman ni.. adala sorang laki ni. Nama dia Ali(nama sebenar). Ali ni orang gila kat kampung ni. So.. ramai la yang pandang slag kat dia. Ramai la yang suka memainkan dia.. nak dijadikan cerita... Pada suatu hari.. si Ali ni gi la masjid nak semayang jumaat... ey.. ni educatednyer orang gila tau.. semayang tak tinggal. Contohilah dia ni. Sedangkan orang gila pun semayang... korang yang siuman ni pun semayang la gak ek.. Ok, sambung citer. Lepas si Ali ni semayang jumaat, dia nak balik la kan. So.. masa dia nak balik tu tetiba dia tengok selipar jepun kesayangannye dah takder. Aper lagi... mengamuk la dia... Tanpa segan silu dia pun pegi la dekat mikrofon masjid tu lalu dia pun berkata: "Kepada sesiapa yang mencuri selipar aku, baik ko pulangkan cepat!!!!!!!". Semua orang menjadi takut.. ye la.. orang gila kan.. memacam dia buleh buat. Buatnya dia tetak anak bini orang kang.. ha.. naya jer. "Kepada sesiapa yang curik selipar kesayangan aku tu.. baik ko pulangkan cepat. Kalau tak aku akan buat seperti mana ayah aku buat!!!" Lalu orang yang curik tu pun pulang la balik. "Lek la bang.. gurau jek". Tapi Ali memandang nyer dgn muka yang serius.. muka macam nak makan orang gitu... haa... lalu budak yang curi selipar dia tu pun blah tanpa memandang ke arah Ali.. takut la tue... Lalu tok imam pun menegur Ali dan bertanya "Kalau dia tak pulang apa yang akan kamu lakukan..?? Apa yang ayah kamu lakukan..??" Dengan suara dan wajah yang slamber.. Ali pun berkata "Saya balik kaki ayam la tok.................."

pejam celik,celik pejam dah masuk tahun2008 dah...byk kenangan pahit,masam,manis,kurang asam,kurang gula(da nak start merepek) dan byk lagi yg telah kita lalui...sebut pasal tahun baru x sah kalau x cakap pasal azam..hmmm azam,azam,azam ...tak tertunai pun selalunya..tapi takper kalau kita ada azam maknanya kita ada matlamat untuk tahun tersebut...apa azam tahun baru korang???tak kesahlah apa azam korang asalkan kita ada azam a.k.a matlamat untuk tahun tersebut... berusahalah untuk mencapai azam tersebut..selamat tahun baru dan selamat 'berazam'....
